The editor-in-chief of the Russian version of Forbes, Nikolai Uskov, who was dismissed in early June, filed a lawsuit against the publisher of the magazine AS RUS RUSIA (part of the ACMG publishing house) in the Presnensky court of Moscow. He demands restoration at work in his former position, illegal disciplinary punishment and payment, including compensation for moral damage, are illegal, Interfax reports.
"Today, I sent a lawsuit to the Presnensky District Court of Moscow about my reinstatement at work: among the demands stated in the lawsuit: the recognition of the illegal disciplinary penalties that I was subjected to, the reinstatement of the former editor-in-chief of Forbes, for a time of forced absenteeism and compensation for moral harm, "Uskov told the agency on Friday.
A spokesman for the Presnensky District Court Aleksei Chernikov confirmed to RBC that former Forbes chief accountant Nikolai Uskov had challenged his dismissal. "A lawsuit was filed by Uskov on recognizing the order on dismissal as illegal, on recognizing the reprimand as illegal, compensation for lost earnings in the amount of 495,223 rubles 79 kopecks and collecting moral damages in the amount of 50,000 rubles," he said.
"We express our readiness to defend our position in court," said Dmitry Ozman, Director of Public Relations of ACMG.
Recall, the dismissal of Nikolai Uskov was announced on June 9. The ACMG said that the reason for the dismissal of the chief of the Russian Forbes was "dissatisfaction with the quality of his work," as well as the violation of labor discipline and the "competition" clause in the employment contract. Instead, he is acting. the editor-in-chief of the Russian version of Forbes was Nikolai Mazurin, before that - the chief editor of the publication.
Sam Uskov then said that the owner of the ACMG Alexander Fedotov tried to interfere in the editorial policy. He also claimed that he was fired for taking part in the air of the radio station Ekho Moskvy.
Uskov wrote on Facebook a big post, where he told about his conflict with the owner of the publication and financial problems of the company. He clarified that on June 8 he was reprimanded for the fact that on May 15 he was absent from the workplace for about an hour, participating in the broadcast of the "Special Opinion" on the radio station Ekho Moskvy. But in the dismissal order, in addition, there was a lack of work on May 29, when he again spoke at the "Echo of Moscow".
"Fedotov perfectly understands why in a situation where he does not pay royalties to authors, photographers and agencies for half a year, delays and does not pay salaries to the staff of Forbes (from the end of March), owes millions of rubles to the printing house, does not pay taxes, rent and other things, he still ought to offer Uskov almost a year's salary.It's very simple, Fedotov hopes that I will remain silent and, pouring out loud, "crawl" aside "to engage in other projects." But I will not do it, "- Uskov noted.
According to the ex-editor-in-chief of the newspaper, his relationship with Fedotov "changed dramatically" after the scandal with the withdrawal of Forbes salary information on the head of VTB Andrei Kostin.
Uskov led the magazine Forbes from January 2016. The magazine itself is published in Russia in April 2004 under the license of the publishing house Forbes Inc.
